The Palm Beach Habilitation Center’s sentinel fundraiser, the Hab-A-Hearts Luncheon, broke all previous records in terms of both attendance and financial proceeds. Some 500 guests packed Mar-a-Lago on February 17 and the event brought in $420,000. The Center has been providing employment and job training, housing, and socialization for adults with disabilities annually since opening its doors over 60 years ago.
One of the highlights of this year’s event was a dance performance by some of the center’s clients. A video presentation of the Center’s work also drew the crowd to attention prior to the Call To The Heart fundraising request at the luncheon.
An outstanding array of high-end items and trips brought in a great amount during both silent and live auctions and many attended the pre-event champagne VIP reception.
Deborah Ann Stroscheim served as this year’s chair. Ann Jaggie was the honorary chair and Charlotte Deleu, the Queen of Hearts.
