A grant award from the Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties is supporting the launch of an exciting new initiative, “Vocational Training for Social Enterprise.” The Vocational Training for Social Enterprise program will build on and strengthen our vocational training programs by launching an e-commerce social enterprise initiative. Focusing on artisan and catered products created by individuals with disabilities that we serve, the program will be integrated into our existing vocational training programs combining creative arts, culinary arts, technology training, and e-commerce. Our shipping and fulfillment training program at the Center will package/ship products and we will integrate an e-commerce module into our already existing technology training curriculum.
Grant funding will support e-commerce website design, search engine optimization, marketing, and staff training on technology so they can train our clients. The end result will equip individuals with the skills required for e-commerce and provide financial support for our art and culinary training programs. Vocational training will help clients find and retain employment using the skills learned through this program.
We are laying the groundwork for the program this summer, and will be launching e-commerce products and training for the individuals we serve this fall.
